Northern Route:  Chiangmai | Lampang | Pitsanuloke | Ayutthaya

Northeastern Route: Ubon Ratchathani | Udonthani | Nongkai | Khon Kaen | Surin  | Pakchong

Souther Route:  Hua Hin | Chumporn | Koh Tao | Surathani | Samui | Phangan | Trang | Hatyai | Nakhon Srithamarat | Sungai Kolok | Butterworth

Here are the list of popular cities or destinations that are not covered for advance train ticketing.

Phuket - is the most popular beach island in Thailand, but there is no train to this destination. The closest railway station is in Surathani whereby you have to connect buses or coach to Phuket. The tickets of buses or coach can be purchased on spot.

Pattaya - on  Eastern route, there is no advance train ticketing on this route.

River Kwai (Kanchanaburi) - on Western route, no advance ticketing.

The last train station in the South of Thailand is Butterworth. There is no direct train to Malaysia (eg. Penang, Kuala Lumpur) and Singapore. Travelers from Thailand can get down only up to Butterworth where they have to connect another train there for heading to Malaysia and Singapore.
