A beautiful resort with lovely staff who are very concerned for my happiness. Unfortunately, I received a case of food poisoning in the restaurant. I know it was the restaurant in Tamarind Village because it was the only place in Chiang Mai that I had lunch and dinner, at which I had a western-style chicken breast. The food poisoning struck shortly after dinner. Fortunately it was a mild case. Overall, the location is beautiful and the rooms are well appointed. I would suggest that your shampoo is a little thinner because it is difficult to get out of the bottle.
Please remember that cleanliness in any kitchen is very important.

We arrived on our first night and they had no room for us even though we had a booking. It was late and we were very tired.
However, they arranged a suite for us in another hotel and then gave us a suite at their hotel on the second night. It was lovely.
We returned after a week and stayed a few more days and the service was very good. |

Very nice but I hope that you take note that the hotel took a booking but then had no room available. We also booked a hotel in Bangkok through you and there we had a similar problem. |

The cost of food and beverages and ancillaries at the hotel (such as tours and airport transfers) was excessive especially relative to other costs in this country. I think they take the "piss" a bit, but overall exceptional service. Pool wa a bit disappointing - built behind walls so in the shade and cold! |

This hotel is in a terrific location. The staff are friendly. Parts of the hotel require maintenance, especially around the pool area (pool furniture, paving not always clean, pool tiles broken). Housekeeping is a good standard. Shower was broken in our bathroom (my husband repaired it!). Quality of breakfast is fair, the items don't get topped up well enough later in the breakfast session, ie saucers (for cups), fruit selection, no bowls for cereal (served in coffee/tea cups). The tuk tuk drivers outside the hotel are friendly and helpful, also the doorman/conceirge excellent.
We would return to this hotel based on value for money, and location. |

I have already recommended La Residence d'Angkor to a friend. This was a great place to stay! I had looked at the website and it looked okay, but I realized as soon as we got there that the website does not do the hotel justice. The rooms were perfect, the pool was wonderful, the design and atmosphere were very relaxing, and the service was charming. I also very much liked the fact that the hotel was on the river, across from the royal palace, and not out on the road with big tourist hotels. It was intimate, charming, tasteful, and very relaxing. |
