Actually we stayed in several hotels so I'll review them below:
Hotel Club Dolphin (Negombo) - only negative was they were not ready for our late night check in - not a good first impression but overall, very nice stay, close to the airport which we appreciated. Super friendly staff and awesome buffet.
Amaya Lake Resort (Dambulla) - absolutely beautiful, should have been our best stay except for one huge problem. The hotel had an outdoor buffet and had no control of the amount of bugs flying around while we ate - truthfully disgusting to walk up to the buffet and see bugs in the food. Everything else was nice.
Amaya Hills Resort (Kandy) - perfect hotel, super nice and very relaxing
Jetwing St Andrews (Nuwara Eliya) - probably the only decent hotel in the area, employees were nice, food was from a set menu, nothing special in our 1 night stay but I was intrigued by the nature walks offered. I could see this hotel as being a good home base for a few days of hiking. Maybe one of the wildlife tours offered could take advantage of a couple of days here.
Cinnamon Grand - short 1 night stay in a 5 star hotel. Front desk people were not friendly - snooty would be the word. But everything else was top notch. |

Great agent!
ps - hope you pass on the information to Amaya Hills so they can fix their bug/buffet problem because it is a wonderful place otherwise. Not sure how they would fix it but maybe their manager could discuss solutions with other hotel managers to see what they did. |

We were recommended different hotels by asia-discovery....but we had chosen La \Residence via internet. Great hotel expecially the one at Luang Prabang. Smaller than in Siem Reap, but superb atmosphere, service and food. Thanks |
