The personnel is not speaking English enough.
The room offered was smoked through, though I ordered not smoking room. After staying a night my throat was sore because of inhaling smoke left by previous guests. Because we stayed with a child of 5, it was awful.
At the reception I was told that they hadn't got another room available and that was all I could do. |

Shower Tab doesnt work properly, almost no water in room 2404.

This is really a very nice hotel. We stayed there four nights and are satisfied!

Its now the 3. time I use Nova Lodge as resort, this time with my wife and brother.
The staff is generally nice, the location of Nova Lodge is good and food and service is ok too.
Nova Lodge is the oldest hotel in Pattaya (before named Nipo Lodge), and unfortunally the management do not maintain this hotel very well - in fact I would say that now Nova Lodge is run down.
This year me and my wife had a superior room (charged 1800 Baht a day).
The bed was comfortable, but the rest of the furnitures old and useless.
On the second night we had a problem with noise the aircon, and the room was hot.
This was fixed the second day where one from the tech staff remowed a block of ice (I believe this was the first service for this aircon in 5-10 years).
Also the bathroom had some problems - the toilet seat was half way broken, and the toilet had problems with flushing.
The 2. night we heard rats or mouse upstairs, and we had to wake up and punch the panels to make it stop.
We repported this to the reception the next day, and they told us that "Nova Lodge is an old Hotel, and we can not do anything about the rats!" - "But if we want we could change room".
Later my wife talked with the maid (my wife is Thai), and she told my wife that several guests had complained about noise from rats.
The management would not do anything about it, because the only have 3 years remaning of leasing/renting Nova Lodge.
When we checked out from Nova Lodge I asked for a late checkout (normal checkout 12.00) And I want to check out 19.30.
The lady in the reception told me that I could check out 18.00 and the would charge me 500 Baht. If I would check out 19.30 the would charge me for a full night more.
Maybe its a small thing, but considering me and my family have spend about 200.000 Baht on Nova Lodge the last 2-3 years if find this kind of "service" crazy.
Its last time me and my family would use Nova Lodge, and I believe the standard would continue to drop the next 3 years.
So im sorry to say that I can rot recommend Nova Lodge.

we have stayed at this hotel before so knew what it was like. Two comments from this stay:
1. hot water was not available for 2-3 days until repairs were complete
2. the drains (outside the rooms) smelled at times as if they needed cleaning.
These were both minor points and we were otherwise please with the hotel |
