If cuisine is an art, then our chefs have mastered a magnificent
canvas. The hotel's dining rooms serve innovative cuisine from all
over the world. One can enjoy music and cultural programs every
evening while indulging in the ambiance of an ancient palace and
delighting in culinary excellence.
Piano Lounge Bar - Aside the lobby, the casual Piano
Lounge Bar is the perfect place to meet friends and relax. Enjoy
an international selection of beverages and exotic cocktails in
the light garden front lounge. Open at 11 a.m. with happy hour
every day from 6-7 p.m. Join the Piano Lounge for a cocktail and
stay for the live music five nights a week. Enjoy Yak and Yeti's
Piano lounge for an aperitif watching the moon glow on the
Himalayas until the sidewalks roll up.
Naachghar Restaurant - As the doors of Yak and Yeti's
Naachghar restaurant open, the impeccably restored palace dining
room of the most distinguished of Rana Maharajas transports its
guest to an opulence reserved for kings. The Naachghar is a living
museum so complete that it only misses the Bir Shumsher Jung
Bahadur Rana who created and dined in its fantastic neo-romantic
surroundings in the ancient Kathmandu of 1885. Now anyone can
attend the exclusive shows every evening in the Naachghar. You
will be served from a menu created from actual Rana palace recipes
which are as rich and abundant as they are historical. On the
stage is a series of theatrics; song and dance depicting the
various eras, ethnic groups and legends which colorfully season
the land of Nepal past and present.
Chimney Restaurant - At the time when the longest
standing restaurant of its quality was created, the path to The
Chimney was just a series of dirt lanes winding between stone
houses in the jewel of the medieval Kathmandu Valley. In a
fairytale land of not so long ago, the infamous Boris Lissanevitch
established The Chimney. Boris' name alone conjures up legends of
his unheeded extravagance and enigmatic adventures; famed Russian
ballet dancer, entrepreneur, and entertainer of royalty, the
tradition of the unprecedented Boris and his Chimney Restaurant
continues to this day.
There is something about the dining room centered around the
warm glow, or the history, or the savory food, a night in The
Chimney, whether an intimate dinner for two or a festive gathering
of friends becomes a story to be told again and again.
Sunrise Cafe - Just across the lobby, is the Sunrise
Café, a casual, light and accommodating restaurant overlooking
expansive and beautifully landscaped gardens and pools.
The Sunrise also hosts exciting events every week: Orient
Express, a culinary journey through the far East, every Wednesday.
Italian Treasure, an authentic Italian buffet every Monday and
Fiesta Latino, a fiery feast of Mexican delicacies from the coasts
of Brazil to the plains of Mexico, brought to you by our expert
chefs.
