The Vakarufalhi Island Resort facilities :
“Duniye Spa” at Vakaru is designed to enhance your satisfaction by adding further comfort and relaxation to your valuable stay. All the treatments are carefully selected combination of holistic treatments ranging from Indian Ayruveda, Oriental and Swedish Massages, body works and beauty treatments. Treat jetlag from the long flight, relax the tensioned muscles from busy and hectic life and remove the tension in your mind from work place.
The house reef is only 15 metres from the beach. The resort has a very nice house reef. Look out for schools of snappers, soldier fish, and batfish. The reef is frequented by stingrays, sharks and turtles and it is very likely that you come across them while snorkeling or diving around the reef. It is an interesting house reef with caves and overhangs. Independent diving and night diving on the house reef is available every day. Masks, snorkels and fins are available from the dive school for snorkeling. Guided night time snorkeling is arranged by the dive school. From January till end of March visits to Manta points are made several times a week. In the months of September until December there is a good chance of seeing whale sharks in the area. Boat trips are available everyday of the week. Full day, early morning, and night dive excursions are organized regularly. All the dive sites are within reach in 15 to 60 minutes by boat. Single dives to dive packages are available for certified divers.
The full day excursion takes you around to two very different islands and a snorkeling point. The excursion begins in the morning after breakfast. First you are taken to a local inhibited island for sightseeing and shopping, then your taken to an uninhabited island for BBQ lunch. After lunch, you will have the chance to snorkel in total seclusion at a beautiful reef before heading back to Vakarufalhi.
As one of the best places in the world for water sports, the resort has a water sports centre operated by ProDivers. It offers Catamaran sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Beginners are offered the opportunity to learn windsurfing or catamaran sailing with an experienced member from the water sports centre, while the more skilled can rent the equipment at their own leisure. For a special day’ s excursion, you can hire a catamaran for an island hopping or snorkeling excursion. One of the water sports centre staff always accompanies you on such excursions
All diving education is conducted within the PADI standards and instruction is available in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish and Dutch. Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Emergency First Response, and specialties such Nitrox, Photography, Underwater Naturalist are conducted by the dive school.
