From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Malaysian Airlines System (MAS) provides daily flights to Kota Bharu (Kelantan) airport, the nearest airport to Kuala Besut.
From the airport, buses and taxis are available for the 45 minutes to 1 hour ride to Besut. An alternative route is to fly to Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu) from KLIA. A bus or taxi ride to Besut from there will take about 1 to 2 hours.
