Hyatt Regency Kuantan's three very different restaurants offer hotel guests a wide choice of dining options. Facilities & Services

Hyatt Regency Kuantan spares nothing to enhance your tropical holiday. Stretch out on the sun decks of the two aqua-violet swimming pools or swim right up to the poolside bar for a cool, exotic cocktail. The sports club offers three floodlit tennis courts and two squash courts together with a variety of beach activities. The Club Olympus Fitness Centre provides a gym with cardiovascular and fitness machines and a spa offering saunas, steam baths and massage rooms. Golf at three superb courses nearby can be readily organized.

Swimming Pools - The neatly arranged sun decks around the two aqua-violet pools provide sunbathers with plenty of sunshine and relaxation. One of the pools provides a swim-up bar for a wide selection of thirst-quenchers and refreshments ranging from fruit juices, soft drinks and mineral water to tropical cocktails. A selection of wines and beers is also available.

Pro Shop - The pro shop was conceived and launched simultaneously with the opening of the hotel in 1980, offering a wide range of recreational activities and incorporating the sports club, which offers three floodlit tennis courts, two squash courts, table tennis and darts. Other outdoor games include beach volleyball, jogging, beach runs and bicycle rides. Recreation Attendants are on hand to help guests get the most out of these activities.

Club Olympus Fitness Centre - Club Olympus provides Cybex state-of-the-art gym equipment, such as digital cardiovascular and strength fitness machines including treadmills, bicycles, stepper, lat pull-down, chest press and others.

Spa facilities include four massage rooms, two saunas and two steam baths. Experienced masseurs offer shiatsu massage to our guests. The Centre is located on the pool level.

Business Centre - Located on the 2nd level of the fourth block, the Business Centre is open daily during local business hours and provides secretarial services, photocopying and assistance in sending faxes. A worldwide courier service is also available.

Camp Hyatt - Camp Hyatt is a fun and educational activity centre where children aged 3 to 12 will be able to experience and learn about the local culture, handicrafts and arts, as well as to participate in a variety of games and team exercises.

Camp Hyatt, located on the ground level between the administrative and fourth block, provides a child care service. It is a colourful little wooden house of typical Malay design furnished with children's games, cuddly toys, building blocks and a variety of board games for the young.

Children are taught various arts and crafts such as vegetable painting, paper folding, T-shirt painting and much more. Team games are available for different age groups. Kids can choose a full-day or half-day session at the Camp Hyatt, and refreshments and lunch are provided.

While the children are having fun under the attentive supervision of our friendly Camp Hyatt Coordinators, parents may then attend to any business commitment or meeting or embark on one of many sightseeing tours, without having to worry about the kids. Camp Hyatt is open every day except Monday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Meeting facilities - Whether you are arranging a private business meeting, a conference or celebrating a special occasion, Hyatt Regency Kuantan has a choice of seven function rooms that will facilitate a variety of events from 20 to 450 people. Our creative catering team can provide a selection of menus designed to cater for every type of event. Audio-visual equipment is also available.

Theme parties can be tailored to your fantasy; from elegant gala nights to beach parties in the Sampan Bar; we will show you that anything is possible.

Restaurants

Kampong Restaurant - The Kampong Restaurant is an absolute delight. Breezy, relaxing and built on stilts right on the beach, it boasts a panoramic view of the South China Sea. Furnished with locally made teak chairs, hardwood tables, coloured tiles and with an open kitchen, the restaurant reflects a blend of casual and traditional elegance with a touch of Minangkabau and Malacca influences.

If you have a taste for the exotic, the menu offers a generous spread of both Eastern and Western cuisine for ą la carte lunch and buffet dinner. For breakfast there is a choice of continental, American or buffet . A high tea buffet is featured on Sundays and public holidays, with a selection of savoury snacks and pastries.

The Italian Bistro - The Italian Bistro is an award-winning bistro serving exquisite Italian cuisine. Designed by renowned interior designers Hirsch Bedner & Associates of Hong Kong, the split-level restaurant has an open kitchen and is decorated with terracotta tiles and teak furniture. Enhanced by panoramic views of the South China Sea, the Bistro also has an open-air lounge.

Dress code is smart casual, and indoor is strictly non-smoking: the outdoor area is available for smokers. There is a private room for small parties. On the first Sunday of the month, the restaurant is open for brunch, with a buffet showcase of Italian, local and international dishes.

The Cocco Loco ('crazy coconut') Fun Pub features an island bar for long drinks and light snacks, or pizza when the day is winding down.

An energetic live band provides entertainment nightly from 9:00 pm except on Sundays. The band's wide repertoire of the latest hits entices guests to the dance floor or just keeps their feet tapping to the up-tempo rhythm. 'Special cocktail of the month' and theme parties are featured every month, with exciting games and special beverage prices.

Service from the Fun Pub extends to the outdoor Verandah, offering guests a panoramic view of the South China Sea.

Yue Yuen Chinese Restaurant - Decorated with glass panels and wooden lattices, Yue Yuen Chinese Restaurant serves delectable Chinese cuisine for dinner. Guests may choose from the ą la carte or set menus. Three private rooms are available on request.Dim sum buffet brunch is available on Sundays.

Sampan Bar - The Sampan Bar is built out of a converted boat and is a unique feature of Hyatt Regency Kuantan. Originally a Vietnamese refugee vessel that landed on the shore near the hotel in May 1980, the boat was purchased by the hotel and the money was donated to the United Nations Vietnamese Refugee Fund. The salvaged boat was permanently anchored on the beachfront and converted into a bar.

Guests can enjoy a wide variety of drinks and cocktails while admiring the views of the South China Sea.

Accommodation

Hyatt Regency Kuantan offers 336 fully air-conditioned rooms and suites, located in four hotel blocks across four to six floors.

All rooms have a private balcony with either garden or sea views and consist of 324 Guest and Premier rooms, four Regency Club® Suites, seven Executive Suites and a Presidential Suite.

Regency Club rooms include complimentary continental breakfast and evening cocktails, with light refreshments provided throughout the day in the Regency Club Lounge.

Guest rooms - Located in the first and second blocks, all guest rooms have a private balcony overlooking the gardens, with double or twin beds, individually controlled air conditioning, a writing table, armchair, and a private bath and shower.

Sea View Rooms - Located in the first and second blocks, with a private balcony and all the facilities of a guest room plus a sea view.

Premier Rooms - Located on the 3rd to 6th floors of the fourth block, Premier rooms are tastefully decorated in soft tropical hues and have a private balcony with garden or sea views, a private bath and walk-in shower cubicle, and a television with Astro channels. 

There are two rooms for disabled people in the first and fourth blocks, with bathrooms installed with hand-bars. These rooms are conveniently placed to ensure easy access to the pool and restaurants by wheelchair.

The Regency Club® has five floors of exclusive hotel accommodation, with four suites and 91 rooms, and a Regency Club Lounge for the exclusive use of Regency Club guests. The rooms are stylishly appointed with the discerning traveller in mind. Designed for privacy, guests are pampered with the efficient, discreet service of the Regency Club Concierge.

The Regency Club® Lounge extends to its guests daily complimentary continental breakfast and evening cocktails and catnaps. The lounge also offers confidential meeting areas for business travellers.

Regency Club® Rooms - Located across five floors of the third block, all the Regency Club rooms have double or twin beds and a private balcony with garden or sea views:

Regency Club Suites - Regency Club Suites have a private balcony with sea views, and consist of a bedroom, sitting room and bathroom with a walk-in shower, and full access to all the facilities of the Regency Club.

Executive Suites - Located in the fourth block, the spacious Executive Suites express a distinctive Malaysian flavour. From the living room to the bedroom, paintings by talented local artists grace the walls while the furniture is crafted from local woods. Each suite has a private balcony with a sea view and consists of a bedroom, a sitting room with sofa, a dining table and a kitchen. All have two toilets and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Guests staying in these suites are entitled to daily complimentary continental breakfast and evening cocktails in the Regency Club® Lounge. These suites are an elevator ride away from our Business Centre, and meeting and function rooms.

Presidential Suite - Located on the top floor of the first block, the Presidential Suite has a private balcony with a sea view, and consists of a bedroom with a king-size bed, sitting room with a sofa and dining table, a kitchen and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and jacuzzi. Guests are entitled to daily complimentary continental breakfast and evening cocktails in the Regency Club Lounge.
