Kiulu River is also recommended for the first timers. The adventure begins by coach (1.5 hours) through the scenic countryside to the Kiulu Valley. Observe the way of lives of villagers as you meet the local. See the suspension bridges and feel the tranquility of nature. For daredevil, try "body rafting". After lunch, return to Kota Kinabalu with a stop at Tamparuli bridge (probably the largest suspension bridge in Sabah).
