Shanghai has something for everyone - rock, hip-hop, techno, salsa, and early morning waltzes in the People's Square. Shanghai's night is just comparable to a night out in Hong Kong or Taipei.
A lot of bars and clubs are here to be chosen. You can check out the Shanghai entertainment magazines for guidance. In discos, Shanghai also pulls in some top-notch DJs from abroad and there are a lot of dance venues.
For cinemas in Shanghai, foreign movies are generally dubbed into Chinese and Chinese movies very rarely have English subtitles but there are exceptions at the multiplexes, such as Golden Cinema Haixing and Studio City. Movies are also shown in many bars.
