Cloud Folded Hill |
|
|
The Cloud Folded Hill consists of two hills and two peaks which are layers of colorful rocks that look like folded silks. The Hill is known by other two names; Feng Dong Hill and Gui Hill. It is located in the northeast of Guilin City and beside the Lijiang River. This area first became famous during the Tang Dynasty. There are many fantastic edifices around the hill that you can visit such as Sheng Shou Temple, Yue Pavillion, Qui Yuan Pavillion, Xiao You Pavillion, Jing Feng Garret and Mao House.

Crown Cave |

The Crown Cave is located in the southern suburb of Guilin. The stream originated in the cave flows to join the majestic Li River and the cave itself is divided into four parts, each connecting with one another. Visitors can sail into the cave from Li River and admire the unique appearance of the cave which is dominated by stalagmite and stalactite minerals.

Elephant Trunk Hill |

The Elephant Trunk Hill earns its name because of its shape that looks like the model of an elephant hanging its trunk and sucking water. On the top of the Elephant Trunk Hill stands the Universal Wisdom Pagoda built during the Ming Dynasty. The wall of the hill is a living showcase of stone carvings from the period of Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty. One of the most famous temples in Guilin, the Yunfeng Temple, is located on the southwest skirt of the hill.

Fu Bo Hill

Another hill that is acclaimed to be one of the most scenic spots of Guilin is Fu Bo Hill which is located outside the Fu Bo Gate in East Guilin. In summer, Fu Bo Hill acts as a natural frontier that protects Guilin from the overflowing waves of the Lijiang River. There is also a Huanzhu Cave at the bottom of the hill that showcases numerous stone carvings from ancient times. Visitors can just walk into the cave in autum and winter, but a visit by a boat is required when the tides rise in spring and summer.

Lijiang River |

The magnificent Lijiang River is well known both at home and abroad for its inherent charisma. The river's course meanders through many fabulous mountains and picturesque villages throughout the length of 83 km, contributing as much a prominent feature of Guilin's landscape as a source of life and artistic inspiration for the people along its banks.

Reed Flute Cave |

The Reed Flute Cave is often praised as "Palace of Natural Art". Located in the northwest of Guilin, this legendary cave was formed by the movement of the earth's crust over a million years ago. Stalactite dominates much of this 500-meter long and 90-meter wide cave. There are more than 70 calligraphic works written on the wall of the cave since the era of Tang Dynasty. Apart from the prominence of stalactite, there's a grass named "reed" growing at the gate. It is said that this grass was used to make flute, hence the name "Reed Flute Cave".

Flower Bridge

This ancient bridge has been a gateway across the Xiaodong River to the Seven-Star Park since 700 years ago. There is a beautiful Wind and Rain Corridor on the bridge, and the arches of the bridge reflect an image of full moons in the water.

Seven Stars Cave |
|
|
Formed about the same time as the Elephant Trunk Hill, the Seven Stars Cave was once an underwater cave. It is about 1km long and the highest point is 27m. The continual seep of water through the rock cracks and the sun light during the day make this tunnel look like a crystal palace. The temperature inside the cave is relatively cool all year round.

Camel Rock

This hill is located in Seven Stars Park, and its shape which resembles a one hump camel has earned its name as the Camel Rock. Also called "Pot Hill" in ancient times, this area when covered with peach flower constitutes one of Guilin's eight famous sights.

Yao Hill |
|
|
Yao Hill is 12km east from downtown Guilin, and is home to the biggest and highest hill in Guilin. It's situated squarely opposite to the Memorial Temple of Emperor Shun which sits across the Li River. Visitors to Yao Hill in different months will also get a different impression as the scenery of the hill changes with the season. Besides the hill's natural charms, Yao Hill is also a location of the Yao Temple, White Deer Temple, Jade Breast Pond and Tianci Field where the famous Jingjiang King Tombs proudly stand. There is also a cable service to lift passengers to the top of the hill.
