Getting to Huai Khum Village
Located in Mae Salak, Huai Khum Village is easily
accessible from Chiang mai airport (3.5 hours), Chiang Rai
airport (1.5 hours), and Thaton (approximately 20 minutes
driving, 16 kms).
Whether you drive yourself, take the public ferry long
tail boat to Huai Khum Village you'll enjoy the great
views along the way.
How to get to Huai Khum Village (From Thaton)
(A) Drive: At the bridge of Thaton, drive for another
11 kms. Turn right at Baan Tha-Makaeng and drive for 5 kms.
To Baan Mae Salaak. Cross the bridge of Huai Chompu after
20-30 minutes driving, you can park your car at the pier
and take a 10-minute boat ride to the resort. It’s also
possible to drive all the way to the resort but the last 3
kilometers of terrain is for hale and hearty vehicles.
(B) Point to Huai Khum Village Resort on the signboard
and take the public ferry long tail boat for Baht 100 per
person. If you have a group up to 10 persons, hire a
longtail boat at Baht 800 for the 40 minutes ride to the
resort.
How to get to Haui Khum Village (From Chiang Mai)
(A) Drive: For a good circular trip from Chiang Mai,
take the northern route from the city (Route 107). The
road slowly leaves flat farmlands and travels through
scenic hill country towards Chiang Dao. It is about 80
kilometers from Chiang Dao to Fang. The area around Fang
has many hilltribe villages and it has become popular for
trekking. It is 20 Kilometers to Thaton. At the bridge of
Thaton, drive for another 11 kms. Turn right at Baan
Tha-Makaeng and drive for 5 kms. To Baan Mae Salaak. Cross
the bridge of Huai Chompu after 20-30 minutes driving, you
can park your car at the pier and take a 10-minute boat
ride to the resort. It’s also possible to drive all the

How to get to Haui Khum Village (From Chiang Rai)
(A) Bus:
Bangkok-Chiang Rai
The 9-hour journey from Bangkok can be made on air
conditioned coaches originating from Mo Chit 2 Bus
Terminal.
Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai is 182 kilometers north of Chiang Mai. Air
conditioned buses leave 12 times daily from Chiang Mai
Arcade Bus Terminal to Chiang Rai. Some buses continue to
Mae Sai and Chiang Saen.
(B) Air:
Bangkok-Chiang Rai
Thai Airways operates 5 flights daily from Bangkok to
Chiang Rai. The journey takes 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai
From October 20,2003, Phuket Air offers 2 daily shuttle
service flights from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai with YS-11
aircraft. The journey takes only 40 minutes.
Thai Airways also has numerous daily flights servicing the
Bangkok-Chiang Mai route and the Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai
route.
