Cycle Tour Kanchanaburi
Code: TKA

3 Days / 2 Nights
Departure: Mon

Kanchanaburi is Thailand's third largest province lying 130-kilometres west and a comfortable 2-hour drive from Bangkok. Kanchanaburi is famous as the site of the world-famous Bridge Over The River Kwai, immortalized in books and movies. Beyond the compact provincial capital, where the Kwai Yai and the Kwai Noi rivers unite to form the Mae Klong River, Kanchanaburi unfolds into a rugged beautiful landscape characterized by waterfalls, caves and tranquil riverside settings. A sparsely populated province much of which has been preserved in National parks, Kanchanaburi is a treat for nature lovers and cyclists.

Staying in a floating raft houses and a riverside jungle lodge, we ride along amazing trails through the jungle and alongside the famous River Kwai. Starting in Bangkok, we first visit the sites of Kanchanaburi Town before taking the Death Railway to Krasae caves. After lunch we visit an elephant camp and an optional elephant ride can be had before we get on the bikes. We start our riding at Krasae caves and we head towards Prasat Muang Sing, a Khmer temple that dates back to the Angkorian period of the 12th Century. We enjoy an afternoon riding through stunning countryside, small Thai villages and teak plantations to the very beautiful Pung Waan Resort, nestling on the banks of the River Kwai. On the second day, we have a colourful full day riding great jungle trails. Red laterite roads contrast beautifully with the green of the jungle and blue skies.

The scenery is awe-inspiring with limestone cliffs punctuating a mountainous skyline that rolls towards Burma in the west. By mid afternoon we arrive at our jungle hotel which is equipped with a riverside swimming pool. Enjoy a massage, a beer or take a boat trip to visit a nearby Mon village! The final ride is a touch more challenging! Enjoy some unforgettable descents through the jungle and a magnificent riverside ride beside a tributary of the Kwai Noi. (only in the dry season), otherwise we ride to Hellfire pass on the road.

We visit the museum and the pass itself and then we stop for lunch before driving back to Bangkok and your hotel.
