The Thai House - Nestled among tropical trees and a verdant garden some 22 kms. from Bangkok, stands a beautiful traditional Thai-style house built in golden teakwood.
This is the home of Pip Fargrajang and her family who have opened their home to overseas visitors who are keen to master the art of Thai cuisine. Or simply to experience living the Thai way.
To get to the Thai House, journey by boat along the Chao Phraya River to a small canal. Upon arrival, the family are on-hand to welcome guests with traditional Thai-style hospitality and offer cooking demonstrations and classes. Lessons are conducted in English and include brief lectures, preparation of the ingredients, hands-on demonstrations and enough time for discussions and a taste of the dishes. Guests then stay on for the night in the charming Thai-style house.
Guests are woken up early the next day for their visit to the local market, part of the day's class. To ensure personal attention, the cooking classes at the Thai House size are kept to a small manageable group of ten participants.
